Introduction

Cooler Master has a good name in the world of PC enclosures with past success stories like the Stacker and even the WaveMaster.  The quality of these cases was always top notch, though the time between really great case designers has been longer than Cooler Master wanted.  The new Cosmos 1000 that we are reviewing today originally started as an upgrade to the Stacker series of cases but soon developed into a very different beast.

Cooler Master has put a serious marketing push behind the new Cosmos 1000 including some online contests.  They promise a lot: Performance meets Silence.   Whether or not they can deliver on that we shall soon see!

Included Extras

First up, we'll look at the little accessories that Cooler Master has included with the Cosmos 1000 such as tie downs and screws.

This interesting pod-like device is actually the place where Cooler Master has stashed the screws, motherboard stand offs and other items.  It is made of aluminum and both ends are removable plastic translucent caps.

In one end you'll find a handful of zip ties as well as the key-ring set of screw drivers which is actually all you really need for a system installation.  The packet of screws and stand offs comes from the other end of the accessory pod, but because there is a pouch of styrofoam inside of it, all the accessories should remain quiet inside.

Also in the case you'll find a bag of other, larger accessories including this 8-pin ATX power extender and eight plastic cable ties that attach to the inside of the enclosure.
