A Closer Look (Outside)

The front of the case is dominated by a large 250mm air turbine that incorporates blue LED lights and a variable speed control.  Two side cowlings blend the large diameter opening into the sides of the case and boldly display the XCLIO logo.

 

 

The front fan speed control is mounted on the left side for easy access and is barely visible unless you are looking for it.  The speed control operates smoothly and provides a very good range of adjustment.

 

 

 

 

The six exposed drive bays are concealed behind a hinged door.  Again, I was impressed by the fit-and-finish of the door arrangement, which operates smoothly and is held closed by a magnetic catch.  (I’m normally not a big fan of front doors, especially plastic ones, but this one is pretty nice.)  A large power On-Off button and reset button are located beside the single exposed 3.5â€� drive bay.

 

 

The black trim piece on the front door has built-in blue LEDs, which light up when power is turned on – very cool.

 

 

A small I/O panel is located at the right edge of the top, about half way back that includes two USB 2.0 ports and one Firewire IEEE1394 port.   A small cover slides over to protect the ports when not in use.  No external audio ports are provided on the A380.
